Let’s have a drink!
This drink. It’s got whiskey in it. And is delicious.
(PS – If you aren’t really a whiskey person, you should totally try it anyway. This drink dilutes the whiskey flavor with a bit of sweetness, so you’ll get all the good stuff with less of the overpowering flavor!)
When Kyle and I were in Portland over Christmas, we went to a great bourbon bar downtown (he’s a bourbon and whiskey guy so that place was his JAM) and tried some of their signature drinks.
They had one with whiskey, some other stuff I don’t remember, and APRICOT JAM. Seriously. Apricot Jam. And you know what? It was friggin’ delicious.
So when we got home, I spent a day trying to create a similar whiskey drink that would tickle my tastebuds and convert me to whiskey-drinking-dom. And after a few attempts, we have a winner!

This sounds SO good right about now. It’s been so hot here lately!! ps (unrelated)- I really like the “in a hurry…jump to recipe” link that you have at the top of your page. I really want to implement something like that on my blog soon!
Thank you so much, Brita! I JUST installed that “recipe jump” link – I’m so happy to hear you like it! I just used a bit of html and text, nothing too fancy 🙂
Oh, man. Delish. But Irish Whiskey isn’t bourbon, which is why this drink is so good!
Oh! This sounds so good. I will have to try it sometime.
